We are Driven by People

Initiated by a team of creatives who met in Fabrica. We are on a mission to capture the places, people and creativity of prominent events around the world.

How it works

After deciding on an event, we would decide on the specific approach and concept, drawing up the plan of attack during the event up till the exhibiting day.

We'll spend a large part of our time, throwing ourselves into the crowds, meeting the locals who are affected by these events aswell as people who've travelled across the world just to be there.

The final output of our research will remain open to various interpretations for each individual event.  This can range from a physical interactive exhibition, printed catalogue to a short documentary.

Salone del Mobile

Breaking the boundaries between the office and the street

[Italy – 2013]

Our first edition was done at the Milano Design Week (Salone + Fuorisalone del Mobile 2013) at OCA.

We collected graphic material and interviews during and around the event. With this content we did a pop up exhibition and a live catalogue with this curated selection so people could touch and see the feeling of this fun creative milanese week.

All the identity was black and white, either printed with our A4 laser printer or with the stamps. We printed out empty forms with questions where people could write their feedback. All the originals that we collected, scanned and included inside the catalogue could be seen and touched in the exhibition.

Beyond talking about the products that are exhibited during the design week, we wanted to hear from both the exhibitors and visitors that we come across.

Listening to their views about design, the design week, Milan and simply what’s on their mind, here are some quotes we came across.

"Small talks" is the result of thoughts and opinions of people we are meeting during different events around the globe. In this case, all the sentences were collected during Art Basel 2013, Swizerland and exhibited during the actual fair at Stellwerk, a train station transformed into a creative startup hub and meeting point in Basel.

Designing with the imaginary and thoughts of people

[United Kingdom – 2013]

What is the imagery that people have in their minds when they think about Future, Materials or Nature? How to describe these images in words?

In its third edition, we rediscussed how people translate their own images into words. Through real interviews in the streets of London during the London Design Week 2013, people’s descriptions were transformed into digital posters creating an online exhibition. Experimenting in a collaborative live way, and born as a collateral project of Collate by Six:Thirty at V&A.
